S.Korea's consumer price rises 2 pct in November

SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's consumer price rose 2 percent in November from a year earlier, Statistics Korea data showed Tuesday.

The consumer price inflation, which hovered below 2 percent for 12 months to September, rebounded to 2 percent in October and stayed in the same level in November.

It was led by expensive agricultural products, of which price jumped 14.4 percent in November from a year earlier. The price hike pulled up the overall headline inflation by 0.6 percentage points.

Livestock product price declined 1.5 percent on lower prices for egg and pork.

Industrial goods price gained 1.5 percent, raising the overall inflation by 0.47 percentage points last month.

Prices for electricity, tap water and natural gas added 1.5 percent in November from a year earlier, lifting the overall inflation by 0.06 percentage points.

Private services price advanced 2.5 percent, pulling up the headline inflation by 0.79 percentage points.
