MAIMANA, Afghanistan, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- At least five militants were killed and seven others injured as fighting aircrafts targeted a Taliban gathering in Qaramqul district of the northern Faryab province on Monday, an army spokesman said Tuesday.
The sorties, according to an army spokesman in the northern region Nazar Khuda Pamiri, were conducted against a Taliban gathering on Monday afternoon, killing five insurgents on the spot and wounding seven others.
Taliban militants have not commented yet.
