JAKARTA, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- An Indonesian men's singles badminton player Anthony S. Ginting has set a target of entering the semifinal of the BWF World Tour Finals 2018 which is scheduled to commence in China next week.

The champion of Indonesian Master 2018 admitted that the competition in the tournament would be tough, so that he trained his endurance and mentality, BolaSport media reported on Thursday.

"The target in the World Tour Finals is going into a semifinal," he said.

Ginting cited that he would compete with seven world's top badminton players in the forthcoming closing tournament this year, among them are Cho Tien Chen, Shi Yugi and Kento Momota.

The BWF World Tour Finals 2018 is set to kick off in Guangzhou of China from December 12 to 16.

Ginting is among the six Indonesian badminton players who are to take part in the upcoming BWF World Tour Finals in Guangzhou based on the release of "Race to Guangzhou" rank published by the Badminton World Federation last month, according to the Indonesian badminton association.

Only shuttlers ranked in the top eight of the "race to Guangzhou" may vie in the BWF World Tour Finals 2018, which offers a 1.5 million U.S. dollars in total prize.
