TOKYO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks made ground Thursday morning.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 214.87 points, or 0.99 percent, from Wednesday to 21,817.62.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 11.13 points, or 0.69 percent, at 1,617.74.
Marine transportation, oil and coal product, and iron and steel-linked issues comprised notable gainers by the morning break.
