KIEV, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- The campaign for next year's presidential election in Ukraine will officially start on Dec. 31, local media reported on Thursday, citing a decision of the Central Election Commission (CEC).

The government-run Ukrinform news agency said the CEC has decided that the potential candidates should declare their intention to run for president by Feb. 3 next year.

Each of the candidates has to pay an election deposit of about 91,709 U.S. dollars to be registered in the campaign.

The presidential election in Ukraine is scheduled for March 31, 2019. The results of the voting will be unveiled by April 10.
