Three remote-controlled improvised explosive devices went off simultaneously as U Nyi Pu and his convoy reached the pavement of a bridge between Nanka and Paungtote villages near Mrauk U on the Yangon-Sittway highway on Tuesday at about 4:30 p.m. local time.

No one was hurt from the explosion but a windshield of a car of the convoy and a side glass of another car were shattered, the report said.
