SYDNEY, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- While Hugo the Galapagos tortoise is beloved in Australian and has been visited by millions of tourists from all around the world, he still hasn't found "the one."

So staff at the Australian Reptile Park, 70 km north of Sydney, decided to help the 68-year-old animal to find a girlfriend before Valentine's Day, signing him up to the world's most popular dating app, Tinder, on Tuesday.

Now 165 kg and fully grown, Hugo first came to the animal sanctuary back in 1963 and it seems its finally time for the tortoise to settle down and find someone to spend the next 100 years with.

According to his dating profile, Hugo wants to take things steady and likes "long walks along the grass, eating sweet potato, neck scratches and cooling off with a cold shower on a hot day."

He is also looking for a lover who shares "his love of carrots."

"Hugo is a really special tortoise and loves all the attention he receives, which is why we want to find him a girlfriend," Head of Reptiles at the Australian Reptile Park Daniel Rumsey said.

"Tinder was the obvious choice, it's the biggest dating app in the world and we're hoping that within 12 months he'll be shacked up with Mrs Hugo," Rumsey added.
