YANGON, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will launch Mekong-Lancang Cultural Exchange Youth Camp with the use of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Fund, aiming at enhancing cooperation between cultural groups and youth artists from six Mekong-Lancang countries, Myanmar News Agency reported on Thursday.

The six Mekong-Lancang countries include China, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Thailand.

A work coordination meeting was held on Jan. 9 to hold the camp, attended by Myanmar Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture U Aung Ko.

Artists and participants from the regional countries had discussions on matters concerning paper reading, art gallery and handicrafts, display from the youth training schools and broadcasting of programs of Myanmar Radio and Television.

An agreement on projects of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund for Myanmar was signed in early last year.

Of the 132 projects selected for implementation under the Mekong-Lancang Special Fund, 10 projects from Myanmar were selected with funding of 2.4 million U.S. dollars.

The Mekong-Lancang Special Fund of 300 million U.S. dollars was established by China during the 2nd Mekong-Lancang Foreign Ministers Meeting held in 2016 in Cambodia.
