SINGAPORE, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.81 percent or 25.44 points to close at 3183.51.
A total of 1.3 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.11 billion Singapore dollars (about 821 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 229 to 146.
The STI index went up 1.12 percent or 35.13 points to close at 3158.07 on Wednesday.
