NAIROBI, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan champions Gor Mahia head coach Hassan Oktay remained optimistic of grinding out a positive result in the home leg of their CAF Confederations Cup clash against New Star de Doula of Cameroon in Nairobi on Sunday.

Gor suffered a blow on Thursday when their defenders, Captain Harun Shakava and Joash Onyango were suspended indefinitely by continental governing body, the Confederation of African Football after they were accused of indiscipline during their Champions League first round second leg fixture away to Lobi Stars of Nigeria.

Despite the setback, the Turkish head coach believes his team has the personnel capable of fashioning a good advantage to carry to Cameroon as they seek to go deep in the second tier continental competition.

"Even without my two key defenders, there is enough quality in the squad to secure a good first leg result.

"I have been rotating the squad and each player has something to offer the team. We will be ready for the game," Oktay told a local website on Friday in Nairobi.

Gor dropped to the Confed Cup after being knocked out of the Champions League following their 3-2 loss on aggregate against Lobi where the Kenyan record league winners blew a 3-1 lead in the first leg to go down 2-0 in the return match.
