TIRANA, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Albania's 10-year government bond interest rate dropped to 5.85 percent on Monday, compared to 6.8 percent during the October auction in 2018.
According to the Bank of Albania (BoA), the 10-year government bond interest rate fell to its lowest level since 2016.
BoA's report showed that for the amount of 4 billion Albanian lek (around 36.6 million U.S. dollars) bond issued by the Albanian government, the demands at auction amounted to over 9 billion Albanian lek.
The increased auction competition has consequently led to a significant reduction in the bond coupon rate.
