ATHENS, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The withdrawal of the junior party in Greece's ruling two-partite coalition, the Independent Greeks (ANEL), from the government over the Macedonia name deal hit the headlines on the front pages of Monday editions of Athens daily newspapers.

"Harsh words before the divorce" read the headline on the front page of "Ethnos" (Nation) newspaper, while "Closing for the coalition" read the financial newspaper "Naftemporiki" (Shipping Industry News).

Another report under the title "It's finally over! Tsipras' invitation to new coalition" was published on the daily "Efimerida ton Syntakton" (Editors' Journal).

"It was the most appropriate solution. A different outcome would mean a frontal conflict between the two former coalition partners. None of them would want that, and, especially the junior party," an editorial on Editors' Journal read.

"Who will save Tsipras?" read the headline of the front page of Dimokratia (Democracy), as Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will seek a confidence vote in his government in the parliament on Wednesday after the junior party's departure from the ruling coalition.

"Eleftheros Typos" (Free Press) daily stated in its headline "Staged...divorce and polls in May", while "The beginning of the end" read the headline of the frontpage of "Ta Nea" (News) newspaper.

According to the editorial note of "Kathimerini" (Daily) newspaper, "the government may buy a few more months with some tactical maneuvering, but it is losing momentum and clout".
