British house price relatively stable amid Brexit uncertainty

LONDON, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- British housing prices fell slightly amid Brexit uncertainty in November 2018, according to UK House Price Index published Wednesday by HM Land Registry, a non-ministerial government department.

Data showed the average property across the country was valued at 230,630 pounds (296,686 U.S. dollars) in November, 0.1 percent down compared with October, with 2.8 percent higher than one year earlier.

In England, the November data showed the average house price reached 247,430 pounds (318,298 dollars), a 2.6 percent increase on an annual basis.

Meanwhile, London saw the largest annual price fall, down by 0.7 percent with the average property falling to 472,901 pounds (608,347 dollars).

In Wales, the average house price rose by 0.2 percent since October last year, with an annual price increase of 5.5 percent to 161,499 pounds (207,755 dollars).
