HANOI, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- All active industrial parks (IPs) in Vietnam posted an average occupancy rate of 73 percent in 2018, according to the country's Department for Economic Zones Management on Tuesday.

Vietnam will simplify investment procedures and make them more transparent, and prioritize investment projects which fit local potential and socioeconomic development orientations, including those regarding state budget contribution, human resources improvement and environment protection, the department said.

At present, 326 IPs, including 250 operational ones, are located in all 63 cities and provinces nationwide. Vietnam also has 17 coastal economic zones with a total land and water area of more than 845,000 hectares.

By the end of last year, IPs and economic zones in the country had lured over 8,000 foreign-invested projects with total capital of more than 145 billion U.S. dollars, and 7,500 domestic projects totaling 970 trillion Vietnamese dong (nearly 42.2 billion U.S. dollars), said the department under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
