NEW DELHI, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A delegation of 87 top educationists and policy-makers from India has embarked on a five-day tour to London in Britain to attend two of the leading and most sought-after global education platforms, "BETT" and "Learnit.world."

While "BETT" is Britain's leading cross-sector education community, "Learnit.world" aims at uniting the global learning community by leading an intellectually honest conversation about the current state and future of learning.

The education tour is organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)'s Alliance for Re-Imagining School Education (ARISE).

The visit will provide the delegates with a tremendous exposure to the latest educational technologies, also offering an excellent opportunity to connect with the global education community.

The visit is aimed at providing the delegates an opportunity to work towards improving and enhancing the quality of education being delivered in the classrooms; re-imagining new paradigms that would create pathways for school education that focus on creating capabilities powered by inclusivity, inquiry and innovation, FICCI said in a statement.

The delegation also comprises selected ed-tech service providers from India, who have joined in as the FICCI-ARISE India delegation partners.

The delegation has been majorly supported by Learnit and Google for Education, who are hosting this group in London. Cambridge University Press continues to be one of the key supporters of FICCI-ARISE, through their engagement with this delegation.

FICCI-ARISE Chairman Naga Prasad Tummala said that learners of today were vastly different from those born in the 20th century.

"Today's learners are multi-taskers, inventive and disruptors. Educators, therefore, have to adopt ways of learning tailored to the learners of tomorrow. Through mobilizing this visit to London we are acting as a facilitator to improve and enhance the quality of education being delivered in the classrooms in India, by giving the education leaders an exposure to latest educational technologies that exist in the space of education."

FICCI-ARISE is a collegium of stakeholders who represent different facets of School Education, and it's fundamental vision is to become a catalyst in government and private efforts for raising the quality of learning outcomes across schools and to ensure that no child is left behind.
