NAIROBI, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday vowed to intensify fight against corruption, calling for collaboration among agencies to help stamp out the vice.

Kenyatta said in Nairobi that all government agencies mandated to fight corruption are cooperating with each other in holding suspects to account.

"Today I note with a lot of happiness that due to the collaboration that has been there under the multi-agency approach, we see more and more cases being prosecuted," he said, according to a statement issued from the presidency.

The president was speaking at the Directorate of Criminal investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road when he awarded state honors to several officers from the DCI and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for their outstanding contribution in the security sector, especially in the fight against corruption.

He urged police officers to be firm and precise in discharging their duties, adding that the government shall never allow few individuals to trample on the rights of others by perpetuating criminal activities.

Kenyatta mid last year renewed anti-corruption drive which has led to unprecedented arrests of graft suspects and arraignment in court of senior government officials suspected of involvement in the theft of public resources.
