TRIPOLI, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to Libya Maria Ribeiro and Libyan Minister of Local Governance Milad Taher held a meeting on Friday to discuss the launch of a humanitarian response plan.
"Ribeiro discussed with Taher the cooperation to provide humanitarian and development support to Libyans in the east, west and south," the UN Support Mission in Libya said in a statement.
"They also discussed the launch of the Humanitarian Response Plan 2019," the statement added.
Libya has been plagued with armed conflict, political division, and economic instability since the 2011 uprising that toppled former leader Muammar Gaddafi's regime.
