SINGAPORE, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 0.05 percent, or 1.49 point, to close at 3,188.68.
A total of 1.21 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 954.13 million Singapore dollars (about 707.81 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 201 to 171.
The STI index went up 0.5 percent, or 15.79 points, to close at 3,190.17 Thursday.
