BANGKOK, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- The Thai police seized more than 10 million methamphetamine pills along with about 4 kg of heroin in seven drug busts, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau said on Friday.

The narcotic police have launched searches in 11 communities across the country since mid January and 32 suspects have been arrested.

Northern Thailand's Chiang Rai province saw three major drug seizures. A 27-year-old man was arrested with 4 million speed pills that were suspected to have been smuggled from a border area on Monday.

A young man, 23, was killed in a shooting with troops in the border province when he tried to smuggle 2.8 million speed pills into Thailand from Myanmar on Sunday. Police also made a haul of 2.82 million meth pills on Jan. 20 from a bus driver.

Some 5,000 ecstasy pills were found hidden inside a toy and a pillow in packages mailed from other countries, police said, adding that they were hunting for the senders and recipients.
