SKOPJE, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- The Macedonian Criminal Court has ordered 30-day detentions of two former senior Macedonian agricultural officials and a house arrest for another former senior agricultural official, local media reported on Saturday.

The three ex-officials were accused of alleged abuse of official position and authorization when granting agricultural aid and leasing agricultural land, which resulted in losses of over 88.4 million Macedonian Denar (1.65 million U.S. dollars) to the budget.

According to a court statement released on Friday afternoon, former agricultural minister Mihail Cvetkov and deputy minister Kristijan Delev were detained for 30 days. Aco Spasenovski, another former agricultural minister, was given home detention due to his deteriorating health condition.

Meanwhile, the court decided that the case regarding another former agricultural minister Ljupcho Dimovski, who is a current Member of Parliament and has parliamentary immunity, will be discussed on Monday's session of the committee on mandatory-immunity issue, local media reported.
