SKOPJE, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Macedonian government declared Thursday and Friday as days of mourning following a bus accident where 14 people died, Zoran Zaev, the Macedonian prime minister, said after the emergency government meeting later Wednesday.

"A traumatic night, full of pain and sadness. Tonight our country is in mourning. I have no word to express my condolences to the families of our fellow citizens who lost their lives in the tragic accident," Zaev tweeted.

On Wednesday around 17:00 local time (1600 GMT) on Skopje-Tetovo highway, a bus with dozens of passengers aboard overturned near the village of Laskartsi.

The accident killed 14, seven of them at the scene and seven in hospitals, whereas 37 were hospitalized, Zaev said.

Oliver Spasovski, the minister of interior, said the investigations on the accident site will continue into Thursday.
