KABUL, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- At least four militants were killed and a Taliban hideout was destroyed after Afghan security forces waged an operation in eastern province of Paktika overnight, Afghan Ministry of Interior Affairs said Sunday.
"The raid was launched in Abdul Dara locality of Gomal district last night. Security forces also confiscated two militants' vehicles after the operation," the ministry said in a statement.
The security forces have not suffered any damage during the operation in the province, 155 km south of Kabul, the statement added.
Violence has been on the rise as Afghan security forces struggle against a surge in attacks by anti-government fighters since the drawdown of foreign forces within the past four years.
The Taliban militant group has not responded to the report so far.
