SINGAPORE, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.81 percent, or 26.23 points, to close at 3,265.97.
A total of 1.47 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 929.84 million Singapore dollars (about 685.7 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 214 to 176.
The STI index went down 0.41 percent, or 13.42 points, to close at 3,239.74 last Friday.
