SKOPJE, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- North Macedonia on Monday launched a scientific-technological park project worth 90.5 million U.S. dollars to encourage innovation in the country.
North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society Mariya Gabriel attended the launch ceremony.
Zaev said the project will help create important innovations and inventions.
"Young people will launch their startups here," said Zaev.
"It is a challenge for us and an opportunity to put the citizens in the center of our policies," Gabriel said.
The commissioner also tweeted that the park project is a strong signal for businesses and citizens that digital technology is an opportunity for growth, inclusion and innovation.
The park, with an initial investment of about 566,000 dollars, will attract businesses, support their development and provide assistance to entrepreneurship development and commercialization.
