TOKYO, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were essentially flat on Tuesday morning as selling for profits in early trade was offset by buying.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged 15.82 points, or 0.07 percent higher, from Monday to 21,297.67.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 2.58 points, or 0.16 percent, at 1,604.54.
Oil and coal product, mining, and electric power and gas-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
