SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Four people including two civilians were killed after the Taliban militants attacked a convoy of a private company in the highway linking Jawzjan's provincial capital Shiberghan city to neighboring Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province on Wednesday, Jawzjan provincial government spokesman Farid Aneq said.
A group of Taliban militants attacked a convoy of a private company early on Wednesday, killing two civilians, obviously both drivers and injuring two others, the official said.
The official said police opened fire on the militants and killed two of them, forcing them to flee.
However, Aneq said that the militants were able to take a vehicle of the ill-fated private company to an unknown location.
Taliban militants haven't commented.
