NEW DELHI, Feb. 22 (Xinhua) -- Two suspected terrorists were nabbed by the police in India's northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday night, announced a top cop in state capital Lucknow on Friday.

The two suspected terrorists have been identified as Shahnawaz and Aqib Ahmad Malik, both residents of India-controlled Kashmir, according to Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police O.P. Singh.

An important fact gathered about Shahnawz is that he is a grenade-making expert, added Singh.

The duo was nabbed from a seminary in Deoband in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur district, where they were allegedly living without admission, and had contacted local youths in a bid to recruit them for terror-related activities.

"Two pistols and some live cartridges, jihadi chats, and some incriminating videos and photographs were recovered from their possession. We are interrogating them for further investigations so as to know since when they had been living there, who funded them and what were their ultimate targets," added the top cop.
