PYONGYANG, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), will pay a two-day "official goodwill visit" to Vietnam starting Friday, the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Wednesday.

Kim arrived in Hanoi, capital of Vietnam, on Tuesday and visited the DPRK embassy later in the day. He asked the embassy staff to further consolidate the deep-rooted friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and two countries, the KCNA said.

He was also briefed on the preparation for the DPRK-U.S. summit to be held in Hanoi on Wednesday and Thursday, the report said.

It is the second summit between Kim and U.S. President Donald Trump after the two leaders met in Singapore in June last year.
