Vietnam issues 300 silver coins to welcome DPRK-U.S. summit

HANOI, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam on Wednesday issued 300 coins made of pure silver to welcome the second summit between top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump.

One side of the coin has images of a dove, an olive branch and national flags of the DPRK and the United States, and the words "World Peace," while the other side has an image of a lotus.

The Vietnam Philately Company, which has been assigned to make the coins, said it issued 300 coins sold for 500,000 Vietnamese dong (over 21 U.S. dollars) each.

Besides the silver coins, Vietnam also issued a set of postal stamps to welcome the summit which is taking place on Wednesday and Thursday in Hanoi.
