NAIROBI, March 2 (Xinhua) -- More than 100 delegates will attend the African seed congress that will be held in Kenya's coastal town of Mombasa on March 4-7, organizers said on Saturday.
"The congress will provide an excellent forum for seed stakeholders to exchange viewpoints, network with one another, consider investment opportunities and discuss important issues on seed trade at national and international levels," said Africa Seed Trade Association (AFSTA) that has organized the congress.
During the congress, scientists will present papers on the pest status movement across Africa and Asia, launch innovations to be used in controlling Fall Armyworm and also release a time table on the journey towards commercializing biotechnology products in Africa.
Other topics will include unveiling of innovations for vegetables production in Africa and the role in observing phytosanitary safety and seed health in the continent.
