MUMBAI, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese traditional Lion and Dragon dance was performed by Guangzhou Laborers Lion Dance Association at Phoenix Mall in Pune, cultural capital of India's central state of Maharashtraon Saturday evening.
The event, organized by Consulate General of China in Mumbai, gave local people a never-seen-before experience of celebration. Chinese Consul General in Mumbai Tang Guocai said the cultural exchange between India and China is the main purpose of the performance and various Chinese companies in India came to support the event.
"It was a great experience for me to watch live Lion dance in Pune city. I enjoyed it like anything," audience Vrushali Pirangute said.
The Guangzhou Laborers' Lion Dance Association went abroad to perform many times and has participated in international competitions with the aim of promoting lion dance culture.
