SINGAPORE, March 4 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.95 percent, or 30.68 points, to close at 3,251.08.
A total of 1.42 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.23 billion Singapore dollars (about 668.29 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 232 to 223.
The STI index went down 0.24 percent, or 7.71 points, to close at 3,220.40 Friday.
