Death toll in Indian-controlled Kashmir bus station blast rises to 2

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir, March 8 (Xinhua) -- The death toll in a grenade blast inside a bus station in Indian-controlled Kashmir rose to two, officials said on Friday.

"The death toll in yesterday's grenade blast here has mounted to two as one of the wounded succumbed early today in hospital," a health official at Government Medical College Hospital Jammu said.

On Thursday a grenade exploded inside a main bus station in Jammu city, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir, wounding 34 people, among which two have died.

According to officials, the remaining 32 others were undergoing treatment in hospital.

Police claimed a teenager who carried out the blast was arrested during checking in the outskirts of the city. According to police, he was tasked to carry out the attack by a militant group called Hizbul Mujahideen.
