ANKARA, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The first batch of F-35 fighter jets is expected to be delivered from the United States in November, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Thursday.
"Despite some statements, the process of procuring F-35 jets is working fine. Our pilots and maintenance team are receiving training in the U.S.," the state-run Anadolu Agency cited Akar as saying.
The F-35 jets will be deployed in southeastern Malatya province, where necessary infrastructure has been prepared, the minister added.
According to Anadolu, Turkey plans to purchase a total of 100 F-35 fighter jets from the United States.
