TIRANA, March 18 (Xinhua) -- Albanian police seized 4.5 kg of cannabis in a village in Shkodra district in the northwest of the country, police said here in a statement on Monday.
Shkodra police concluded the operation dubbed "Kir" with the arrest of a 45-year-old man from the village of Kir.
The police, in cooperation with "Eagle" Special Forces, made the arrest after a tipoff that the man was engaged in narcotics-related criminal activity and illegally possessed weapons.
The police found and seized 4.5 kg of cannabis, two automatic firearms, ammunitions and two radio receivers.
A search for other persons involved in this criminal activity is still underway, the statement said.
