TOKYO, April 4 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Thursday morning as U.S. chip-related issues outperforming overnight saw their counterparts and other technology stocks here finding favor.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 55.64 points, or 0.26 percent, from Wednesday to 21,768.85.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 3.06 points, or 0.19 percent, to 1,624.83.
Marine transportation, electric appliance, and oil and coal product-related issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
