PARIS, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Paris Saint-Germain striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting Wednesday felt sorry for mistakenly blocking a goalbound shot from teammate Christopher Nkunku that could well delay their Ligue 1 title defense.

PSG could have secured their sixth league title in seven seasons with a victory at the Parc des Princes after Lille had drawn at Reims, while tying Strasbourg 2-2 instead last Sunday.

The most dramatic moment of the match came when Choupo-Moting turned Nkunku's goal-bound chip onto the post on the goal line in the first half.

"Ups and downs, that's life. I can't change what happened but for sure I will try to do better," Choupo-Moting wrote on his Instagram page, along with a picture of celebrating in front of PSG fans and two videos, one for his goal and the other for his blunder on Nkunku's shot against Strasbourg.

"I am sorry for those I disappointed, but mistakes are human, especially in sports. It's sad to see how negative things are pushed, especially by the medias and brainwashing people's minds.

"I really like our club and it was a wonderful feeling to score in front of you supporters. Unfortunately after that I made the big mistake and all was forgotten. I hope that those haters which are insulting me feel better now and find their peace and happiness in their own life.

"For those who are always supporting me or just understanding that mistakes can happen, I wanna say thank you and big respect. I will continue to give everything," the striker added.

PSG can still wrap up the title with a draw in Sunday's head-to-head against Lille.
