SARAJEVO, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Development and modernization of the telecom sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) over the past few years has been partly facilitated by Chinese companies, Huawei primarily, BiH news portal Klix.ba said Friday in a long article.
The 1,756-word article is entitled "Economic battle and chance on technology example: Huawei -- a return to the future".
"There have been thousands of cyber attacks on the network, but it has never been found that Huawei has dropped any software backdoor," the article said.
"The fact that Huawei's equipment is an integral part of 4G networks around the globe gives enough reasons for optimism to apply its great planetary experience in BiH," it said.
This month, BiH introduces the 4G network Internet service. Huawei did not have the problem of meeting the conditions and was actively competing in procurement requirements.
Huawei has played a role in the modernization of BiH, the article said. Last year, Huawei signed an agreement with City of Sarajevo, aiming to cooperate on the application of new technologies and smart solutions.
"It is estimated that such Huawei projects will create 300 new jobs to our citizens," the article said, emphasizing that it will contribute to the further development of BiH's telecom industry and economy.
It is expected that, after the free visa regime took effect in May 2018, some 100,000 Chinese tourists will visit BiH this year and will further speed up construction of the 4G network in the entire country.
