TOKYO, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks retreated Monday as despite a positive lead late last week from Wall Street, investors remained risk adverse amid mounting concerns for the global economic outlook.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average dropped 107.21 points, or 0.5 percent, from Friday to 21,237.71.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 1.86 points, or 0.12 percent, to 1,547.56.

Consumer credit, marine transportation and iron and steel-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break.
