12 injured as blast hits SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, May 24 (Xinhua) -- At least 12 people were injured when a bomb went off inside a mosque in Pakistan's southwest Quetta city of Balochistan province on Friday, local media reports said.

The incident happened in Pahtoon Abad area of Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan province, local TV channel Dunya reported.

The injured people have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

The nature of the blast has not been ascertained yet.

No group or person has taken claim of the explosion, according to initial reports.

The area has been cordoned off for investigations.
