SYDNEY, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Australian Border Force (ABF) officers have intercepted a massive shipment of cocaine and MDMA worth just under 100 million U.S. dollars, which arrived in Sydney earlier this month.

Around 312 kg of cocaine and 236 kg of MDMA were discovered in a shipping container which was declared as shampoo to customs.

Following extensive enquiries, the execution of seven search warrants at storage facilities across Sydney on Monday resulted in the arrest of one man, who was charged with two counts of possessing a prohibited drug and released on bail.

Meanwhile a special joint task force involving the State Organised Crime Squad, ABF investigators and the New South Wales Crime Commission has been established to further investigate and track down those responsible.

The amount of cocaine seized by authorities has an estimated street value of 64.7 million U.S. dollars, while the MDMA carries and estimated street value of 32.6 million U.S. dollars.
