TIRANA, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Visiting NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg urged all political actors in Albania here on Sunday to contribute to the dialogue on resolving the country's political crisis.

During a joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama, Stoltenberg said any dispute "must be solved through political dialogue and participation in democratic processes."

"Elections are undoubtedly a fundamental part of the democratic process in NATO allied states, including Albania. I call on all political actors to participate and contribute to dialogue and to resolve disagreements, different opinions through dialogue," he said.

Stoltenberg, however, underlined that the use of any kind of violence and effort to undermine democratic institutions is unacceptable.

He confirmed that the political situation will not affect NATO's investments in Albania and in the military air base in Kucova, lower-center Albania.

"We will continue with our investment program as planned. Political turmoils will not affect. For me this is an example of how important NATO is for Albania and Albania for NATO," Stoltenberg said.

On his part, Rama assured that the authorities will not allow any form of destabilization that would affect the image of the country.

He added that with Stoltenberg they discussed "aspects on the cooperation and contributions within NATO, and also about Albania's budget contribution for defense."

During his short visit in Tirana, Stoltenberg also had a meeting with the Albanian President Ilir Meta.
