ULAN BATOR, June 3 (Xinhua) -- The award ceremony of an art competition among Mongolian primary and secondary school students to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China-Mongolia diplomatic relations was held here on Monday.

Some 120 works of art were submitted to the competition from 10 schools by first through eighth grade students.

The top nine participants of the competition were awarded certificates and cash prizes respectively.

The competition under the theme of "Mongolia-China Friendship through My Eyes" was organized by Mongolia's state-owned news agency Montsame and sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Mongolia and the Chinese Cultural Center in Ulan Bator.

Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming said that such events will deepen the mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

The competition is part of a series of activities organized to celebrate the friendship between Mongolia and China, with the aim to contribute to further development of bilateral relations between the two countries, said Shoovdor Batbold, deputy director of Montsame, at the award ceremony.
