YEREVAN, June 6 (Xinhua) -- Armenia will receive extra 25 million euros (about 28 million U.S. dollars) in financial assistance from the European Union (EU) in 2019, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said on Thursday.
The EU will provide the funds in addition to the previously approved 40 million euros, Mnatsakanyan said at a joint session of the parliamentary committees on the budget execution for 2018, according to ARKA news agency.
The total amount of the EU financial assistance worth 65 million euros this year represents a significant increase from 2018.
Armenia received a total of 11.2 billion drams (about 23 million U.S. dollars) in grants last year, and about 41 percent of them came from Europe, according to the country's Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan.
