ADDIS ABABA, June 10 (Xinhua) -- A landslide in Ethiopia's largest dump site "Koshe" located in capital Addis Ababa has left one person dead, state media outlet Ethiopia Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) reported on Monday.

EBC reported the landslide happened on Monday morning as scavengers were picking up through the dump site looking for food items and other possessions they can sell on the local market.

EBC further reported the body of the deceased, a 70 years old man, has been retrieved from the dump site, while search and rescue missions are ongoing to find any other possible victims buried underneath the dump site.

In March 2017, a landslide in "Koshe" left more than 120 people dead.

Lying on 36 hectares municipal landfill, "Koshe" is home for some Addis Ababa dwellers who were apparently victims of a number of prior landslides.
