TOKYO, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday despite a solid lead from Wall Street overnight, as investors opted to secure profits following the benchmark Nikkei stock index's recent gains.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 22.36 points, or 0.11 percent, from Monday to 21,112.06.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 0.17 point, or 0.01 percent, at 1,552.77.
Oil and coal product, textile and apparel, and rubber product-linked issues comprised those that declined the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
