S.Korean president's approval rating rises this week: poll

SEOUL, June 13 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in's approval rating rose this week, hovering around 50 percent for the past months, a weekly poll showed Thursday.

According to the Realmeter survey, support for Moon added 0.4 percentage points over the week to 48.4 percent this week.

The negative assessment on Moon's management of state affairs fell 1.1 percentage points to 45.6 percent.

Moon's support score stayed around 50 percent for the past months amid the stable management of state affairs by the president.

Support for Moon's ruling Democratic Party inched down 0.4 percentage points over the week to 40.1 percent this week.

It was followed by the main conservative opposition Liberty Korea Party, of which approval rating rose 1.9 percentage points to 31.5 percent this week.

The minor progressive Justice Party and the minor conservative Bareun Future Party won an identical 6 percent this week, while the center-left Party for Democracy and Peace garnered 2.5 percent of support.

The results were based on a survey of 1,509 voters conducted from Monday to Wednesday. It had plus and minus 2.5 percentage points in margin of error with a 95 percent confidence level.
