NEW DELHI, June 14 (Xinhua) -- India's online transportation network company "Ola" plans to set up an "Advanced Technology Center" (ATC) in San Francisco, U.S., with over 150 engineers working on developing next generation technologies in mobility, said company sources.

Founded in 2011, Ola is one of the world's largest ride-sharing companies. It integrates city transportation for customers and driver-partners onto a mobile technology platform ensuring convenient, transparent, and quick service fulfillment.

According to company sources, the core focus is on development of new tech capabilities and innovation in urban mobility.

The new facility will demand to add new talent who will collaborate with global terms in the various geographies where Ola operates.

Ola is looking to hire experts in Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, data sciences, engineering and product development to achieve this, said company sources.

"The Valley and the talent ecosystem here are very conducive to the development of next-generation mobility solutions. This is also a big step in our journey as a global mobility player, with a mission that talent from around the world are inspired to join us on," the company's co-founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Ankit Bhati was quoted as saying.

The Advanced Technology Center will be the centre point of transformative mobility technology in the time to come, he added.

Headquartered in the country's southern city Bengaluru, Ola has a presence in 150 cities across India, besides operations in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand, serving more than 150 million users with over a billion rides annually.

Ola's last international expansion was in April in the U.K. when it launched services in seven cities.
