SAN FRANCISCO, June 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing Company on Friday said it has struck a deal to buy aerospace interiors supplier EnCore Group to double down on its own vertical integration strategy.

The acquisition of EnCore Group will increase innovation within its cabin vertical in order to provide better products to improved capacity and availability, Boeing said.

California-based EnCore Group, which has been a supplier to Boeing since it was established in 2011, is a 700-member-strong aerospace interiors company that designs, certifies and produces airplane seats and galleys for airlines.

Under the agreement, Boeing will buy the entire EnCore company including EnCore Interiors, EnCore International and LIFT by EnCore, said the top American planemaker.

"With this acquisition, we aim to deliver quality and high-value interior offerings that our customers expect and passengers prefer," said Sheila Remes, cabin vertical leader and vice president of strategy at Boeing.

The Boeing-Encore transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2019.
