MEXICO CITY, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Mexican exports grew 6.7 percent in May on a year-on-year basis to 41.825 billion U.S. dollars, Mexico's National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi) said Thursday.

Imports grew 0.1 percent to 40.795 billion dollars in May, according to Inegi's commercial balance of goods report.

Inegi data showed Mexico had a surplus of 1.031 billion dollars in May, its fourth consecutive month for trade surplus.

In a separate report, Mexico's Banorte Financial Group said May's financial report gave mixed signals for the overall economy, with the manufacturing dynamic on the positive side.

"On the negative side, the recent performance of non-oil consumption imports suggested a greater weakness in the domestic demand," the report said.

Mexico's Central Bank forecasts the local economic growth for 2019 to be between 0.8 and 1.8 percent.
